Who We are?

We are part of the VGP community. Grouped by Our Heritage Foundation the locals work with environment and heritage professionals to make it possible. Artisans, Entrepreneurs, Fishermen and others join hands to offer a unique and authentic experience in Vieux Grand Port.

Our Heritage Foundation

OHF is a Non-government and non-profit making organisation for the preservation and development of heritage. We bring a holistic and integrated approach to heritage: heritage in its landscape and environment along with the community.

OHF conceptualized the 'Vieux Grand Port: Landscape, Heritage and Community' project after several consultative meetings with the inhabitants of Vieux Grand Port. After understanding the richness and the needs of the area - a bottom to top approach was taken and project was conceptualised.

We are now implementing the VGP project along with the community for the community. We ensure that education, preservation and promotion of heritage goes hand in hand with a sustainable development of the community through regenerative tourism initiatives.

With the artisans, the artists, the entrepreneurs, the fishermen and other practitioners of living heritage in the village the dream is being realised.
